Randstad is working with a Queensland state government department who have two vacancies for an A07 Principal Advisors within their team. The two positions available are a 6 month non ongoing position and a 12 month non ongoing position with a potential for extension.


The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a range of reports, including the organisation’s annual report, quarterly performance reports, and strategy-related documents.



About the role:


  • Actively participate, and take a lead role when required, in the development, implementation and review of strategic, operational planning, and performance reporting activities, policies, processes and frameworks to meet organisational needs.
  • Manage key strategic and operational planning processes, including the regular review of performance indicators against outcomes desired.
  • Lead the development and preparation of a state government department’s annual, quarterly, and other required performance reports and strategy-related documents.
  • Actively participate and take a lead role when required, in specific initiatives that leads to the improvement of the state government department’s strategy, planning and reporting activities.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to management and staff on planning and reporting activities in accordance with Queensland Government frameworks and processes.
  • Represent the team on relevant planning and reporting issues where required
  • This position description provides the minimum requirements for the position. The incumbent may be required to undertake other duties as required.

  1. Demonstrated skills in building and sustaining positive relationships with team members, divisions, customers and stakeholders by developing effective networks, consulting, negotiating and collaborating to achieve results.
  2. Effectively apply knowledge and experience in strategy, planning, performance and reporting frameworks and activities to achieve unit goals, including a commitment to ongoing personal development and improvement.
  3. Manages other people and projects well to meet deadlines through effective goal setting, resource allocation, project risk management and performance evaluation.
  4. Consistently delivers on goals and objectives set by themselves and by others, showing resilience in the face of obstacles.
  5. Uses or deploys expert communication skills in a variety of settings and styles, sensitive to the context and the impact of the message.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  7. Strong research and report writing skills

Salary range: $131,080 - $140,381 + Super
